Vintage Notes

This vintage was characterized by some more extreme weather events. The beginning of spring was cool with some precipitation, but at the end of October there was a severe frost that affected the entire region. Reaching the end of spring, a series of heat waves began that would last until the end of the harvest. The situation was different in Luján de Cuyo and in the Uco Valley. In Luján, the heat wave continued. On the other hand, in the Valley, it rained for a few days, which dampened the progress of the grapes’ ripening. The early harvest was decisive in maintaining the style of the winery. Beyond the challenges of the harvest, this combination of conditions generated wines with great concentration in the mouth, verticality and great texture.

vineyard

100% Bonarda grapes from our own vineyard with vines, located in Luján de Cuyo (Mendoza) at 800 meters above sea level. The climate is semi-desert, with hot days and cool nights. The floor is alluvial origin with deep horizons, with a fine silt-sandy texture, which favors good drainage. They are soils characterized by allowing deep root development and promoting an ecosystem. fresh root.

Winemaking

Manual harvest. Made by direct pressing of whole bunches of grapes. Minimal contact on lees. Fermented at 16°C for 10 days, with native yeasts and without acidity correction. After spending 5 days on the lees, it was deburred and aged in concrete tanks for 6 months. It has no passage through oak. Aged in bottle for 3 months.

Tasting Notes

It has a salmon color with copper reflections. The nose is delicate, with notes of pomegranate, fresh quince, white pepper, notes of white flowers such as rain jasmine, and subtle notes of fresh strawberries and kumquat peel. In the mouth it is very juicy and has great texture, with a crisp and granular acidity. It has a medium volume on the palate, where citrus and fruity notes predominate. A fresh, balanced and very fine wine, ideal to drink alone as an aperitif or pair it with fish, rabbit and seasonal salads.
