Vintage Notes

The 2020 harvest was intense and challenging. From a climatic point of view, this year was characterized by being very dry, with an average of precipitation below the historical records of Mendoza. The minimum temperatures were the highest in the last 10 years and the days were very hot, especially in the months before the harvest. As a result, we have very concentrated grapes with great processing potential; a natural adelanto added to a concentration of the harvesting moment of the different compartments. The temperature dropped a little in February, helping the bays maintain their freshness and allowing us to collect them with the sensorial and analytical qualities desired by the equipment.

Grapes from a polygon of high-density vineyards on our farm in Luján de Cuyo. The preparation of the soil with wormwood humus, the management of the water and the organic coverings from the beginning led to the profound development of the roots, a key factor especially in warm climates to achieve wines of quality and good natural freshness. The sector where these grapes come from has a small amount of clay, and a large amount of calcium carbonate, key factors for the winery’s style.

Winemaking

100% hand-picked Malbec grapes from a plot of our own vineyard that is certified organic. Fermentation takes place in separate stainless steel tanks, between 26°C and 28°C, for 10 days. Fermentation exclusively with native yeast. Each tank is tasted 3 times a day during the process to evaluate its progress. Aged in concrete vats for 9 months. It doesn’t pass for oak.

Tasting Notes

The 2020 harvest marks the 25th anniversary of the winery – founded in 1995 – and represents a success on a path of learning in which we recognize ourselves as experts in Malbec. In this wine we return to this experience and the joy of our celebration. A wine with an intense ruby red color, with an expressive nose that highlights notes of red fruits, ciruelas and subtle aromas of eucalyptus. In the mouth it is very fresh, with balanced acidity and friendly tannins. It has a long finish, very fruity, which leaves subtle mineral notes of tiza on the palate. It is ideal to accompany classic red meats, pastas with generous salsas or vegetables al wok.

Vintage Notes

The season began with a dry and fresh spring, which favored the good ones in the vineyard. Summer is characterized by moderate temperatures and a large amount of precipitation in February and March, the months in which the windstorm is carried out. At the end of the season, precipitation decreased and temperatures in the tuvieron large peaks remained moderate and stable, maintaining the bay’s turgency and avoiding over-ripe descriptors. These conditions decanted in wines with great freshness and aromatic expression, high color intensities, elegant tannins and a great structure.

Tasting Notes

This is a vibrant Malbec, with a vibrant, bright purple color. Bold aromas flood the nose, with notes of ciruelas, spices, herbs and mint. Fresh fruit in the mouth, with a good grip and balanced acidity. It is a vertical wine, tasty and juicy, with friendly tannins. A modern expression of Malbec, made 100% with organic grapes.
