MALBEC TERROIR VALLE DE UCO
The season began with a dry and fresh spring, which favored the good ones in the vineyard. Summer is characterized by moderate temperatures and a large amount of precipitation in February and March, the months in which the windstorm is carried out. At the end of the season, precipitation decreased and temperatures in the tuvieron large peaks remained moderate and stable, maintaining the bay’s turgency and avoiding over-ripe descriptors. These conditions decanted in wines with great freshness and aromatic expression, high color intensities, elegant tannins and a great structure.
100% Malbec grapes harvested by hand in high density vineyards located in La Consulta and 2 sub-zones of Tupungato. They are alluvial gravel soils, with the presence of stones but with little presence of calcium carbonate.
Grapes from different vineyards will be vinified separately before the final cut. The grapes pass through a double selection belt and into small stainless steel tanks. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts at 24-26°C, for 15 days.
Each tank is tasted twice a day during the fermentation process to evaluate its progress. It grows for 18 months in cement piles (75% of wine) and in foudres (tonnes) of 3500 liters of unroasted oak (25% of wine). Child in bottle for a minimum of 6 months.
The freshness of Valle de Uco suffuses this Malbec, which seeks to showcase this distinctive area of Mendoza in its maximum expression. Shows a deep ruby red color, very concentrated. It has a great aromatic intensity, with notes of red fruits, guinda, black fruits, cranberry, as well as herbal notes of native plants (jarilla, coirón) and manzanilla flower. In the mouth it is crunchy and fruity, with tannins and great texture. It has a long finish, with mineral notes. It is an ideal wine to pair with Mediterranean cuisine and red meat dishes.
