The season began with a dry and fresh spring, which favored the good ones in the vineyard. Summer is characterized by moderate temperatures and a large amount of precipitation in February and March, the months in which the windstorm is carried out. At the end of the season, precipitation decreased and temperatures in the tuvieron large peaks remained moderate and stable, maintaining the bay’s turgency and avoiding over-ripe descriptors. These conditions decanted in wines with great freshness and aromatic expression, high color intensities, elegant tannins and a great structure.
Grapes coming from vineyards on limestone soil located in the Valle de Uco, in the alluvial deposits of the Río Tunuyán in Paraje Altamira in about 20% and in the high and alluvial zone of Gualtallary in about 80%.
These terraces feature medium and large gravels, covered in calcium carbonate paste, which contribute to the structure, texture and aftertaste of the wine.
100% Malbec grapes hand picked, selecting the bunches. During fermentation / maceration, brief and gentle pigeages will be carried out to achieve fair extraction of the skins. Fermented at 26°C with natural acidity and indigenous yeasts that provide freshness, flavor and balanced vibration. 75% of the wine was created for 18 months in 3500-liter barrels (foudres) of French oak without toasting, while the remaining 25% was created in concrete piles without epoxy to care for the intensity and naturalness of the fruit.
Child in bottle for 12 months.
The 2021 harvest produces expressive wine, with a deep sense of place. Calcium carbonate is the conductor that runs through the vineyards that provide fruit to this Malbec.
Pose an intense red color, with burgundy color mattes. On the nose it is a wine of great finesse, with notes of cassis, orange peel, fresh ciruela, chestnut, mesquite cortex, eucalyptus, white pepper, laurel and white roses. The mouthfeel is fruity and juicy. The limestone soils also have great presence on the palate, with mineral and lemon notes, a great texture and vibrant acidity.
