Alto Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo
This vintage was characterized by some more extreme weather events. The beginning of spring was cool with some precipitation, but at the end of October there was a severe frost that affected the entire region. Reaching the end of spring, a series of heat waves began that would last until the end of the harvest. The situation was different in Luján de Cuyo and in the Uco Valley. In Luján, the heat wave continued. On the other hand, in the Valley, it rained for a few days, which dampened the progress of the grapes’ ripening. The early harvest was decisive in maintaining the style of the winery. Beyond the challenges of the harvest, this combination of conditions generated wines with great concentration in the mouth, verticality and great texture.

A Cabernet Sauvignon from Altos Las Hormigas?
In our search to rescue the identity and ancestral winemaking techniques, we found a small vineyard block in the Alto Agrelo area, Luján de Cuyo with the ideal profile to make a “Clarete” style wine. For centuries this was the style of Cabernet Sauvignon: fluid and tasty, more texture than weight.
This is Cloud, an agile and very drinkable wine. It has a ruby red color, with cherry red tints. On the nose, the aromatic intensity is high, with notes of white pepper, cranberry, cassis, plum, gunpowder, roses and red tea. In the mouth it has a great entry, fruity, with a mid-palate with a lot of texture and juicy tannins. The finish is long and with a very marked note of pink pepper. An ideal wine to accompany stuffed peppers, wild boar, lamb or rabbit terrines and soft cured cheeses.
